It was sunny, but with a cold north wind on Sunday for the Frinton Golf Club Challenge Bowl, an 18-hole medal with a handicap limit of 24. Dave Killick won it with a nett score of 65. Glenn Maleary was in second place with 66 and Nick Brown was just behind him in third with 67 points.

Frinton ladies played in two simultaneous competitions on Tuesday.

The Simonds Bowl is a medal with a handicap limit of 28. Jemma Jackson won the silverware with a score of 76 nett. Sarah Fryer was in second place with 79 and Deborah Tanner placed third with 82.

Higher handicappers played in a qualifying stableford. Karen Wright came out on top with 37 points. Second place went to Marie Gibson with 31 and Mary Johnson was third on count back with 24 points.

Greens cut Fairways being mown today. The 9th is full length today as we are waiting for part for the trencher . Hopefully drainage will resume tomorrow. Tees being mown and turfing of low ways on 15th fairway continues. PREFERRED LIES are now in play. Please remember to repair your pitchmarks. Thank you. Preferred lies are to remain in bunkers but updated to WITHIN 6 INCHES no nearer the hole while keeping within the hazard. Limited bins are available every three holes. The ball lifters have been replaced with foam . Please do not touch the flags.
