CAPTAINS’ DRIVE-IN
The summer sun returned as Frinton GC members welcomed their new Captains by cheering them on at the traditional drive-in ceremony on Saturday afternoon. First the retiring captains, Peter Gard and Viv Stansfield holed out on the 18th to conclude their year. Then the new captains, John Harding and Tracey Taylor drove in. Both drives were impressive.

ALAN'S PUTTER EVENT
On Bank Holiday Monday, the men played in the ever-popular Alan’s Putter event, a foursomes 18-hole stableford with a maximum handicap limit of 24. Keith and Gary Cattermole came away the winners with 41 points. Several pairings scored 39, with Colin Fleetwood and Ian Martin awarded second place on count back, ahead of Frazer and Connor Maleary.

FIONA EDMOND CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY SCRATCH MEDAL
The ladies showed their mettle in the grueling 36-hole Fiona Edmond Championship Trophy scratch medal on Tuesday. It was warm and sunny, but the easterly wind didn’t make the going any easier.
Junior Captain Chelsea Duffy and Claire Vaughan put in fine performances, coming in first and second respectively with scores of 157 and 160. In the simultaneous 18-hole stableford, Ginny Richardson was declared the winner on count back with 35 points, just ahead of Gina Donnelly.

COOPER CUP
The competition on Sunday was the Cooper Cup, a stableford open to all Havers Course members. Frazer Maleary had another good day, winning it with an awesome 41 points. Nick Tedder-Ward was in second place with 40 points. A few people finished with 39 points, and Dave Killick was awarded third on count back.

Morning . Greens cut and ironed Holes changed and in the middle , back , front, sequence. Bunkers raked. Mowing completed PITCH MARKS are becoming an issue again, please can every effort be made to repair yours as you wait on the green. The greens are a little softer after 18mm of rain last Friday, so you are more likely to leave a pitch Mark. Many thanks .
