Frinton ladies played in two important competitions last week, the Centenary Salver and the McMillan Salver. The format was 36 holes over 2 days. The Centenary Salver was donated to the club in 1995 by Gladys Chamberlain and is a scratch event. Claire Vaughan won it, way out in front with a score of 169. Gladys’ son Ian Chamberlain presented the trophy to Claire. Caroline Gard won the McMillan Salver event with a score of 155 nett. And Janet McMillan presented her prize.

There were some exciting adult and junior foursome stableford contests on Friday. Freddie Rusbridge and Ian Chamberlain won the 10-hole competition on the Havers Course with 24 points. And Connor Forecast and Sheran Harding came in second with 22 points. Over on the Kirby Course, the Rusbridge family persevered, with Scarlett and Scott winning the 9-hole event with 20 stableford points. Freddie and Mark Todd finished in second place with 19 points.
