LORENCE EVELYN JONES TROPHY
The weather was nothing short of glorious for golf at Frinton last weekend. The men competed for the Lorence Evelyn Jones Trophy, an 18-hole medal with a handicap limit of 24. Charlie Rusbridge emerged victorious with a nett score of 66. Nigel Anderson finished in second place with 69 and third place went to Brady Diplock on count back with 71.

ARTHUR HAVERS TROPHY
An important competition took place the weekend before. The Arthur Havers Trophy is a scratch competition over 36 holes in two days and counts toward the Club Championship. Nick Tedder-Ward won it with a score of 148. Harry Sanderson came in second, just behind with 149.

THE MARKHAM BOWL
The Markham Bowl was played simultaneously, a 36-hole medal over two days with a handicap limit of 24. Harry Sanderson won that one with 133 nett. Phillip Townsend came in second with 138.

GOADBY CUP
The ladies also played two competitions on Tuesday. The Goadby Cup is a bogey event with a maximum handicap of 28. The win went to Caroline Grey with a score of 2. Judy Taylor came in second with 1. Three ladies finished with -1, and Junior captain Chelsey Duffy was awarded third on count back.

STABLEFORD
Audrey Joshua won the stableford with 33 points.

JUNIORS – THE LAVINIA EVELYN JONES TROPHY
And finally, a big competition for the junIors: The Lavinia Evelyn Jones Trophy, an 18-hole medal. It was a great day for the Rusbridge family. Charlie Rusbridge won it with 39 points, and his brother Freddie came in second with 38 points. Patrick Dooley, with 33 points, was third.

Morning . Greens cut and ironed. Holes in the middle, back, front sequence . England Golf have now brought back in the use of bunker rakes which have been placed on the course so please rake the bunkers after use. All benches and ball washers now in use also. Polite reminder : There should be no play before 730am and only teeing off from the 1st tee PITCH MARKS are becoming an issue again, please can every effort be made to repair yours as you wait on the green.
