It was another busy week at Frinton GC.

RNLI
The RNLI competition was the first major event following Golf Week. The 18-hole single stableford was open to all Havers Course members.
Mark Flanagan won it with an impressive 41 points. David Partridge was just behind him with 40 points and Murray Northover was awarded third on count back with 37 points, just ahead of Gus Rusbridge.

YANSY CUP
It was a big win for the Juniors on Tuesday when they beat the Seniors and Ladies in match play for the Yansy Cup.

LADIES EXTRA MEDAL
The ladies played an extra medal on their day. Sarah Fryer won big with a score of 67 nett. Sarah Taylor was second with 71, and a score of 75 put Marie Ellis in third place.

FRIDAY STABLEFORD
It was definitely end-of-summer weather for the last Friday of the month stableford. Players may have been distracted by the Red Arrows flying overhead, but the scores didn’t show it. Raymond Allen held his nerve, winning it on count back with 42 points, just ahead of Chris Ackred. Simon O’Brien’s 40 put him in third place.

JOHN HOLDER SALVER
A bit of drizzle greeted the players for the Jon Holder Salver on Saturday. Two men finished with 41 stableford points, with Jamie Redden named winner on count back. Joseph Martin was second and Jack Fullers’ 40 points put him in third place.

JUBILEE BOWL
Ladies and Gents played for the Jubilee Bowl on Bank Holiday Sunday. The north wind prevailed, making it feel autumnal.
Keith and Gary Cattermole named the winners with 42 points. Several pairs got 40, Claire Vaughan and Nick Brown were awarded second on countback and Mark Flanagan and Colin Shaw were third.

BEACH HUT TROPOHY
And, in the ever-popular annual event, the Frinton team beat the actors, musicians and stunt men of the Stage Golfing Society last Sunday by three holes, retaining the Beach Hut Trophy.
