FRANK THOMSON TROPHY
The biggest men’s competition at Frinton GC this week was the Frank Thomson Trophy and Daily Mail Men’s Qualifier.
Ed Glease and Paul Mutton won the Thomson trophy with a score of 66 nett. Simon O’Brien and Darren Wells were awarded second on count back with 68, just ahead of Jake Bishop and Jamie Hearn.
Glease and Mutton may qualify to go ahead to the next round of the Daily Mail event.

LADY PAST AND PRESENT CAPTAINS’ TROPHY
The Lady Past and Present Captains’ trophy was in contention on Thursday. The format was 9-hole single stableford.
Ginny Richardson won it on count back with 18 points and Lynda Boland was awarded second place. The trophy was presented by Edna Giles, who donated it to the club in 1995, the first year of her captaincy and has presented it every year since. The annual and always delicious lunch followed the prize-giving.

The ladies’ event on Tuesday was rained out.
