Frazer Maleary won the Lorence Evelyn Jones Trophy with an amazing 64 nett at Frinton GC on Saturday. The ever-popular event is a men’s singles 18-hole medal. The course was in excellent condition, but the wind made the going more challenging. David Cross came in second on count back with 68, just ahead of Bill Burns.

The ladies played in the Ping 4BBB event on Tuesday. Again, the scores were good, with Barbara Thorpe and Ginny Richardson winning it with 43 points. They may get to go on to play another round. Michelle Lawton and Sandra Balderston were second with 42 points. And Captain Yvonne Davies and Donna Oliver were third on count back with 41, just ahead of Louise Wood and Marie Gibson.
