Unfortunately, last week’s winners were not in attendance so this week’s free draw is £350 . . . . Members just need to be in the bar or playing in the Roll Up to qualify.

News from the Seniors . . . . . So much for the “Summer Solstice”.
The bad weather on Monday caused the match against Hintlesham to be abandoned shortly after it started. 32 very bedraggled Seniors soon found themselves back in the Clubhouse and not a dry shirt between them . . . .

News from our Head Green Keeper – Andy Cracknell
The rainfall figure for June so far is 70mm which is well above the June average of 45mm and, we still have over a week to go. . . . . as a result there has been plenty of grass to cut and the rough has really flourished Gramicide applications combined with scarification to specific areas of rough have been successful and all green side bunkers have been edged and tidied . . . . the fairway bunkers will be addressed next week.

News from Peter Taggart
The Norman Plum team drew 3 – 3 with Colchester but unfortunately lost their 4th round match on count back . . .well done and commiserations to Nigel Anderson and his team
Lily Taylor & Michelle Lawton won their Hunter Foursomes Match 4 & 3 against Channels and are now through to the QFs
Lily Taylor also won the Junior Sabine Cup with 65 nett & Claire Vaughan came 2nd with 69 nett. Lily’s handicap is now down to 26
Luc Brown won the EGU medal on Saturday with 67 nett beating Ian Low on countback.
Frinton were awarded a “walk over” in the Thornton Cup plate and are now due to face Benton Hall in the QFs

The Euro’s . . . . . “Come on England”
England’s first Knockout match will be shown on the big screen at the Club on Monday 27th June. . . . . kickoff at 8pm.
Burger "n" chips will be available for £6.95 which needs to be pre-ordered .. . . Happy hour will operate from 7pm to 11pm offering Members 30% discount

Terrace Bar Quiz
Last weeks Terrace Bar Quiz was won by Rob Morgan’s team who kindly donated half their winnings to the next True or False prize fund.
The Brexit Quiz was won by Peter Reicher who is a visiting American related to the Quiz Master! . . . . .The prize was a healthy £50 and he generously proceeded to buy everyone a drink.
As you can see, the Quiz is all about the taking part . . .not the winning . . . There will now be a summer recess with the Terrace Bar Quiz returning on Thursday 8th September at 8pm.
