The ever popular "4 Clubs and a Putter" saw a full field on the Bank Holiday Monday, the first competition of the year. It was a sunny, but cold day with a northerly wind adding a serious chill factor.
Rob Long showed his mettle, winning it with 37 stableford points.
Three men finished with a close 36 points, but Dick Groves, last week’s winner, was awarded second place on countback, ahead of Tony Ward and guest Mr. P. Darke.
Donna Oliver handed in the best ladies score with 33 points.

The first monthly stableford open to all Havers Course members was a popular competition with fifty eight gents and ladies playing. It was unseasonably mild with virtually no wind for a change.
Tony Nicholas won it with 39 points, and as a result his handicap was reduced one point. Geoff Pigott was a close second with 38 points. Two men had 37 points, with Ed Glease awarded third place on count back ahead of Robert Bones.
Once again Donna Oliver had a brilliant day, with the best ladies score of 35 points.
