WINTER GOLF AT FRINTON

Article Published: Saturday 28th January 2017 21:31:14 pm
Frinton Golf Course continues to be in fine condition with both courses open through January. Frost has delayed play only a few times.

The men played a bogey/par competition on Friday. That format has a way of sorting out the men from the boys, so congratulations must go to Dick Groves who posted an excellent score of +4 to lead the field. Four players finished level/all square: Adrian Joshua, Kevin Smith, Simon O’Brian and new member Phil Townsend finished 2nd to 5th respectively after count back.

Maria Naden won the ladies 10-hold stableford with an excellent score of 20 points. Sheila Attrill took second place with 19. And both Jan Wright and Joanne Simons tied on 17 points, with Jan awarded third on count back.

And in another ladies competition, a 15-hole best 2 from 3 stableford, the winning team was Yvonne Davies, Donna Oliver and Tracey Taylor with 66 points. With the same score, and coming in second on count back were the team of Sheila Attrill, Julia Walshaw and Loraine Motion.
