A full field of 87 men played for the Hamilton Scratch Medal and Alfred Symes Cup on Good Friday. Kevin Smith won the Hamilton medal with a gross score of 72. In the nett competition, Murray Northover came out on top with a great nett score of 66. Iain Quick was just behind him with 67. And 2 men finished at 68, with Mark Smith awarded third place on count back ahead of Adrian Joshua.
The ladies played for the McMillan Spoon, an 18-hole singles stableford. Lyn Lawrence won it with a score of 39 points. Two ladies had 38 points, with Claire Vaughan awarded second place on count back, just ahead of Joan Stevenson.
There was a Kirby Course 18-hole medal a couple of weeks ago. Madge Whitehead was the winner with a nett score of 57. Jan Harrison came in second with 61. And 4 people finished with nets of 62, with Rod Johnson awarded third place on count back.
