David Joshua hosted his Captainís Day on Saturday. Although there was some rain in the morning, it turned into a sunny but windy day, making the conditions challenging. The morning format was 4BBB, and 3 teams finished with very respectable scores of 44 points.
First place was awarded on count back to Stuart Grimwade and Peter Outtridge. Paul Mutton and Dan Nicholls finished in second place, and James Hide and Sam Cook took third.
At mid-morning the Club Captain donned his apron and barbecued some delicious hamburgers and sausages at the Zulu hut , whilst wife Audrey Joshua and helpers served up Pimms and other refreshments.
In the afternoon, it was a Texas Scramble in teams of four over 10 holes. The winning team was made up of John Sowton, Mark Smith, John Harding and Gary Bishop with a score of 32.4.
