Another week of mild temperatures

Article Published: Monday 30th October 2017 11:18:52 am
Frinton GC members enjoyed another week of mild temperatures for this time of year, but it was quite windy. And no rain!

The men played a stableford incorporating the Past Captainsí Trophy on Sunday. Gavin Cowell took home the silverware, scoring 38 points. Also on 38 points, John Rodda was awarded second place on count back. Both men had their handicaps reduced by one shot. Alan Morrison came in third with 36 points.

Some 50 gents and ladies participated in the monthly Friday stableford open to all Havers Course members. Kevin Smith won it with 40 points. Gary Chisnall was awarded second place on count back with 38 points, just ahead of Harry Sanderson. Linda Hayles had the best score of the women.

The ladies played a foursomes competition on their day last week. Again it was quite mild and sunny, but the wind picked up as the morning progressed. The team of Angela Low and Judy Taylor won it with 35 stableford points. Marie Ellis and Jeannie Nokes were just behind in second place with 34 points. And Judy Little and Joan Stevenson were awarded third place on count back with 30 points.
