General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Article Published: Thursday 17th May 2018 13:42:15 pm
You may or may not already be aware that there are new UK data privacy laws coming into effect on the 25th May. The new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) means that you will have more control over how your data is used and to better protect it. All organisations, even those as small as Frinton Golf Club, have to adhere to the new regulations.

To reflect these new obligations and in recognition of the value of the data assets of the Club, we have introduced a new Information Security and Data Protection Policy. Copies are available from the Club. (PDF attached).

We are working our way towards compliance and hope to be so by the end of the month.

One of the main tasks is to have your permission to hold your details for the purposes specified. We shall do this in parallel with the forthcoming annual subscriptions renewal notifications.

In the interim, if you have any specific questions or concerns about the use of your data or the Policy, please contact us. We're here and happy to help.

Thank you for your help
Graeme
