It was a full field for the Arnold Quick Salver at Frinton GC this weekend, a mixed foursome event which was Mr. Quick’s favourite format. And in keeping with tradition, Liam Wilson and Jemma Jackson won it for the 4th year in a row with 38 stableford points. The duo of Gavin Cowell and Caroline Grey were in second place, just behind with 37 points. The Quick family made a good showing, with Iain and Jane Quick in third place with 36 points. And Anthea (Quick) Coffey and Roly Brockman scored 35 points.
The ladies section had 2 events last week. In the 6th main day stableford, Joan Horner came out in front with 36 points. Lady captain Marilyn Clarke was just behind her in second place with 35 points. And Patricia Freear came in third place with 33 points.
And then there was the Granny’s Cup. Deborah Tanner was the winner with 34 points.
It was another good day for Patricia Freear, coming in second with 31 points. And Judith Little was in third place with 30 points.
The Poker Circle held their Autumn Meeting on Saturday. The notorious card sharks Graeme Dodds (aka Chairman) and Andrew Bailey were way out in front in the 4BBB event with 46 stableford points.
That was the golf. We’re not sure how they fared at poker.
