Roy Stevenson hosted his Seniors Captainís Day this week. He was lucky with the weather Ė a fine sunny day with a light breeze after the deluge of the weekend. It was a singles stableford format. Steve Phillips won it with 38 points. Barry Webb was in second place with 36 points. And Third place went to Peter Dabbs with 34. Ian Tee was nearest the pin on the 8th. Terry Lawrence took the honours on the 13th.
The ladies played an 18-hole Arizona Shuffle on their day, a 3-ball competition where various combinations of scores count. The best shufflers were Yvonne Davies, Joan Horner and Caroline Gard, awarded first place on count back with 65 points. Just behind were Ginny Richardson, Margaret Dean and Judith Little. And one point behind them with 64 points were captain Marilyn Clarke, Diane Gerrard and Judy Taylor.
The Peter Kincaid Golf Day was held on Thursday in memory of Peter. It was a combination of members and guests. The format was Texas Scramble in teams of 4. The all-member team of Murray Northover, Graeme Dodds, Andrew Bailey and David Partridge won it with a nett score of 60.
