Frinton GC men and ladies vied for the Lorna Farebrother 4 Club Salver, always a fun competition. David Baker came out on top with 38 points. Two men finished with 36 points, with Simon Parkes awarded second place on count back, just ahead of Kevin Maleary.
On Sunday the men played for the Vandenburgh Cup, a singles 18-hole stableford with a handicap limit of 24. John Warner won the silverware with 33 points. Ian Binns had 32 to finish in second place.
The ladies played greensomes on Tuesday. The early rain didnít dampen their spirits however, and Linda Hayes and Audrey Joshua pulled through, winning it with 37 points. Three teams finished with 36, with Deborah Tanner and Barbara Thorpe awarded second on count back, just ahead of Marilyn Clarke and Loraine Motion. Fourth went to Jan Wright and Helen Barr.
The Seniors have now finished their inter-club season. Their home record was commendable with only one loss. Matches against Gosford GC and Hintlesham resulted in convincing wins. The last home match against Braintree finished all square at 4 Ė 4.
