The ladies had a busy week. Tuesday saw 2 major competitions.
On the Havers Course, members vied for the Simonds Bowl, an 18-hole medal with a 28 handicap limit. Marie Ellis took home the silverware with a score of 76 nett. Two ladies finished on 77 nett, with Angela Low awarded second place, just ahead of Ginny Richardson.
Over on the Kirby Course, the ladies played for the Kirby Cup, an 18-hole stableford event. Jackie Bryden was the winner with an amazing score of 41 points. The trophy was presented to her by Jan McLellan who donated the trophy in the year of her captaincy, 2007. Susie Gregory was in second place with 31 points. And Kitty Jarvis finished in third with 29 points.
And in another ladies event last week, Judith Little continued her winning ways, coming in first in the Past Captainís Competition with 21 points over 10 holes. Judy Taylor was just behind her in second with 20 points. And Captain Marilyn Clarke was in third on count back with 19 points.
The Seniors played for the Senior Shield, a stableford event.
Three men finished with 37 points, with David Wilson declared the winner on count back.
Roy Brewerton was awarded second place. And Barry Webb was third.
