Frinton GC Havers Course members played in the Friday stableford, always held on the last Friday of the month. The beautiful summer-like weather had given way to more autumnal conditions, with a stiff northerly wind.
However Peter Morris prevailed, winning it on count back with 36 points.
Steve Phillips was awarded second place. And Tom Kennedy finished third with 35 points. Sadly no ladies entered the competition.
The ladies played a foursomes competition on their day.
The sun was shining, but the wind was a distraction.
Three teams finished with 29 points, with Sheran Harding and Mary Johnson awarded first place on count back. Yvonne Davies and Marilyn Clarke were in second place. And Joan Horner and Angela Low came in third.
The stableford encompassing the Past Captainís trophy competition was a bit of a wash out on Sunday.
A full field of players started the event, but torrential rain and a sudden sharp burst of hail dampened spirits, and many retired to the clubhouse early.
Eighteen men prevailed though, and Peter Webster took home the trophy. Geoff Taylor won the stableford with a great score of 41 points. Mike Leonardi was second with 37. And Neil Meixner finished in third place with 36.
