Frinton Turkey Trotters were lucky with the weather on Sunday. After torrential rain overnight, the skies cleared to a bright and breezy day for the 84 players, a very full field. The format was foursomes. There were 2 sets of prizes, one for mixed pairs, and one for menís pairings. The team of Jemma Jackson and Liam Wilson came in first overall, scoring 37 points. They are certainly the Clubís most successful mixed team. The menís winners on count back were David Baker and Steve Davies with 35 points, just ahead of Phil Townsend and Simon Parkes. Paul Card and Robin Bond were in third place with 34 points. Going back to the mixed teams, Wayne Dearth and Deborah Tanner were in second place with 34 points. And Steve Mitchell and Karen Wright came in third with 33 points. The prizes were vouchers from Wrights of Frinton butchers.

The ladies played foursomes on their day. Lady captain Marilyn Clarke and her partner Jan Harrison were way out in front, winning it with 34 points. Patricia Freear and Sarah Taylor were in second place with 29 points. And Rosemary Rouse and Linda Hayles placed third with 28.

And finally the Seniors held their Christmas Bonanza last Monday, a singles stableford followed by lunch. Mike Kuzma won the day with 39 points. Three men finished with 35 points, with Steve Phillips awarded second place on count back, ahead of Alan Dunt and Vince McAuley.
