Ladies played "Putts Mean Prizes"

Article Published: Monday 28th January 2019 14:17:46 pm
Frinton GC ladies played a different competition last week. The format was ‘Putts Mean Prizes,’ a threesome event where only putts count towards the collective score. So the fewer the putts, the higher the score. The team of Ginny Richardson, Loraine Motion and Patricia Freear won it with a score of 67 points. Helen Barr, Lynda Boland and Viv Stansfield were a close second with 66 points, And third place went to Margaret Dean, Jan McLellan and Donna Oliver with 64 points.

The monthly Friday stableford open to all Havers Course members attracted a small field last week, probably due to the miserable weather. It was cold and windy, but normal course conditions prevailed with no temporary greens or frost holes. Geoff Taylor won it with 36 points. Vince McAulery came in second with 35. And just behind in third place was Mike Donnelly with 34.
