Frinton men played for the Veteranís Cup on the Bank Holiday Saturday that felt more like February with wind, sharp showers and burst of hail. However David Hansom battled through like a true veteran, winning the trophy with 36 stableford points. Two men finished just behind him on 35 points, with David Baker awarded second place, and Junior Captain Oliver Trotman third.
On Ladies Day, the wind was still blowing from the north, and Sarah Taylor was still winning. It was her 5th victory in a row, and she won the 4th EWGA medal with a nett score of 66. Since it was a qualifier her handicap was promptly reduced by 3 shots. Marilyn Clarke was in second place with 73. And Deborah Tanner came in third with 74.
The ladies also played a friendly match against Harwich and Dovercourt this week at home, and won it 3-1.
