Frinton GC 100 Club had a perfect day weather-wise for their annual Spectacular event fundraiser. The format was best 3 from 4 stableford scores to count with a designated player for each hole, resulting in many confused participants. However the winning team figured it out. They were Mark Smith, Kevin Maleary, Alan Morrison and John Sowton who racked up a great score of 131 points. The scores were actually quite close. Second place went to Murray Northover, David Partridge, Danny Dix and John Warner with 129 points. Best mixed team and overall third place went to Steve Mitchell, Karen Wright, Louise Wod and Ian Watts with 128 points.

The ladies played a stableford on their day. Patricia Freear won it with 39 points. Claire Vaughan came in second on count back with 38 points, just ahead of Louise Wood.
And the ladies Harris Bowl team had another good win last week, this time against Langdon Hills at home. The final score was 4 – 1.
