The Arthur Havers Bursary

Since its foundation in 1997, the Arthur Havers Bursary has continually provided financial resources and support to the Club in a variety of ways.

Every year, the Bursary funds a comprehensive coaching programme and other schemes to assist junior golfers to gain experience and learn the game. Many have subsequently become members of the Club. It has also provided financial help to many members of all playing categories, who have fallen on difficult times.

Four of our ex juniors have subsequently joined the ranks of the Professional Golf Association and two of them, namely Tom and Scott, are today providing the nucleus of the very successful Coastal Golfing Academy, involving local junior schools.

Many of the full playing members of the Club are direct products of this system and are now helping to perpetuate this cycle.

The current trustees of the Bursary are: Iain Quick, Michael Coffey, Roger Attrill, Nigel Jackson, Loraine Motion and James Hide.
